Growing Hierarchical Scale-Free Networks by Means of Nonhierarchical Processes

چکیده
We introduce a fully nonhierarchical network growing mechanism, that furthermore does not impose explicit preferential attachment rules. The growing procedure produces a graph featuring power-law degree and clustering distributions, and manifesting slightly disassortative degreedegree correlations. The rigorous rate equations for the evolution of the degree distribution and for the conditional degree-degree probability are derived.

Modes of Interaction between Individuals Dominate the Topologies of Real World Networks
We find that the topologies of real world networks, such as those formed within human societies, by the Internet, or among cellular proteins, are dominated by the mode of the interactions considered among the individuals. Specifically, a major dichotomy in previously studied networks arises from modeling networks in terms of pairwise versus group tasks. The former often intrinsically give rise ...
متن کاملModeling for evolving biological networks with scale-free connectivity, hierarchical modularity, and disassortativity.
We propose a growing network model that consists of two tunable mechanisms: growth by merging modules which are represented as complete graphs and a fitness-driven preferential attachment. Our model exhibits the three prominent statistical properties are widely shared in real biological networks, for example gene regulatory, protein-protein interaction, and metabolic networks. They retain three...
متن کاملHierarchical neural networks for survival analysis.
Neural networks offer the potential of providing more accurate predictions of survival time than do traditional methods. Their use in medical applications has, however, been limited, especially when some data is censored or the frequency of events is low. To reduce the effect of these problems, we have developed a hierarchical architecture of neural networks that predicts survival in a stepwise...
متن کاملAn overview and new methods in fuzzy clustering
Principal methods in nonhierarchical and hierarchical fuzzy clustering are overviewed. In particular, the method of fuzzy c-means is focused upon and recent algorithms in fuzzy c-means are described. It is shown that the concept of regularization plays an important role in the fuzzy c-means. Classification functions induced from fuzzy clustering are discussed and variations of the standard fuzz...
متن کاملTrapping in scale-free networks with hierarchical organization of modularity.
A wide variety of real-life networks share two remarkable generic topological properties: scale-free behavior and modular organization, and it is natural and important to study how these two features affect the dynamical processes taking place on such networks. In this paper, we investigate a simple stochastic process--trapping problem, a random walk with a perfect trap fixed at a given locatio...
